Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex

Opened in 1995, this $120 million, privately-financed project took four run-down yet historic piers and transformed them into a major center for public recreation and waterfront access. Covering 28 waterfront acres, the complex includes Piers 59, 60 and 61 and the headhouse connecting them.
