The amazing Coral Castle is on the National Register of Historic Places and is was built over a 28 year period by Ed Leedskalnin, using nothing but home made tools mostly from junk parts. Ed was jilted by a young woman in his home country of Latvia, and built the castle as a stone monument to his unrequited love. Tons of coral rock were hand chiseled and shaped into thrones, tables, sun dials and fountains. How the diminutive Ed engineered features of the castle remains a mystery to this day. This property offers access for patrons with disabilities.
