Since 1993, the VenueGuide service has supported MetroGuide.com's publication of interactive event calendars under the EventGuide brand. The daily EventGuide calendars strive to be a total resource for event information in a metropolitan area for a given day, answering for our readers the question "What do you want to do today?" VenueGuide specifies places for those those events.

A "Venue" can be any facility that hosts an event, but the primary focus of this guide is on theaters, convention centers, sports arenas and the like. Venues have physicality.
